A little salsa with that?

So after shooting at the kilns and then catching sunset at Mesquite Dunes, we cruised to Beatty to grab a room. Motel6 in that town is not recommended unless you are alone and just want to sleep. $5 for wifi, no mic or fridge. $59. We opted out and instead eventually found the Desert Inn and RV Park. It seems that everything in that town is owned by the same people. And there is no espresso .... Anyway, from there we headed to Rhyolite, a ghost town that once boasted the crossing of three rail lines and was considered the Chicago of the West. On the way out of Beatty, I saw one of those metal cut outs of a burro.... Then another, but it moved! It was a herd of wild burros. They were very cooperative and hung around for dozens of photos. One was a very young colt, still nursing.

Too Early

For some reason, I always have to get up earlier when I'm on vacation than when I'm not.
We holed up in Carson City, NV for the night. Today we are heading to Bodie ( a ghost town) and some really old trees.
Just met a nice 82 year old lady. Her last wish was to drive around the country with her German husband. She is German/American. I said "it sounds like fun!" She said,"it's not! He drives me crazy. Rush rush. Push push. He nervous."
