It's been a YEAR!

Nothing much to update.  Facebook has finally lifted my restriction on connecting my flickr account. I was blocked after posting a memorial video of my cat that had a copyrighted song as a background. That was July 2nd of last year. 

CLOCKS

My Mom had no real love for "human time". Mom loved hiking and being out in the mountains where there was no time. I think this is probably when her disdain for clocks started, but I am not really sure. After my sister and I had left home, she had one clock in the house. That was the one on the stove. It was set to Pacific Standard Time. She never reset it for Daylight Savings time. You just had to remember that if you were at Mom's, you either looked at your watch, or weren't really sure what time it was. Later, she did have a digital (flip number, I think) clock by her bed, but I was never sure if that was right either.

For my 5th Birthday, my parents gave me a Timex watch. It was one of those with the dial the size of a nickle, and the black leather band. When I was 12, I got a smaller dialed princess style watch with a maroon face. When I was 17, they gave me a Casio Star Wars digital (Red LEDs and a 50 page instruction book!!!) When I started in Road construction at 19 or so, I got a heavy duty Timex digital (12 functions or something...) 

As I sit here in my craft room, I can look around and see 5 CLOCKS that were given to me by my Mom. This is the same Mom who didn't like time. There have been other timepieces in the 30 years between that last Timex and now, some have been lost or broken.

Sadly, I will not be able to ask Mom about this since her internal clock stopped a few years ago, so I will never know why she always was giving me clocks and watches. 

By the way, in case you are wondering, I am eternally running late.
